The Nanomask is a new model of FFP2 mask, fully developed in Portugal, which uses nanofibers to ensure protection in a professional environment. The project developed in partnership with the University of Minho and Poleva, a company specialised in thermoforming technology, will display its results this Thursday, demonstrating the potential of nanotechnology for the creation of new products.
Sustainability has always been a priority at Poleva
Poleva was founded in 1989, because of a family’s desire to engage in another activity. In 2007, it changed its name and decided to invest in more innovative products and processes that are more complex, giving rise to the company, as we know it today.

In an interview to APICCAPS, José Dias, Director of Felgueiras-based company, Poleva, specialised in the manufacture of insoles, says that 2021 “will be a year fraught with uncertainty”, and that prospects “are not good”, but he hopes that the footwear industry can fight to stay “in the market and make some progress”.
